Tandoori Chicken Legs

This chicken is marinated with so many spices and slow cooked that it will just melt in your mouth. Most definitely a must try for any occasion!

Chicken and rice has always been a staple in my house since I was a kid and no one wants to eat boring chicken and rice everyday. This tandoori chicken is not just tender, but it is so juicy and flavorful you would have no issues eating it everyday.


Tandoori Chicken Legs


Ingredients:

  • 12 drumsticks

  • 2 tbsp. garlic ginger paste

  • 1 tbsp. garam masala

  • 1 tbsp. paprika

  • 1 tbsp. ground cumin

  • 2 tsp. tandoori masala

  • 1 tsp. ground coriander

  • 2 tsp. garlic salt

  • 1 tsp. onion powder

  • 1 tsp. red food coloring

  • ½ tsp. black pepper

  • ½ tsp. turmeric powder

  • ½ tsp. cayenne pepper

  • ¼ c. plain greek yogurt

  • ¼ c. olive oil

  • ¼ c. lemon juice

  • Sliced red onion

  • Chopped cilantro

  • Sliced lemon

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, mix together yogurt, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic ginger paste, and all the spices together

  2. Score drumsticks with three lines each

  3. Add chicken to marinade, making sure chicken in completely coated

  4. Let chicken marinate for at least 4 hours

  5. Once chicken is ready, add to baking pan and cover with aluminum foil

  6. Preheat oven too 200C/400F

  7. Once oven is heated, add chicken and cook for about 30 minutes on each side, until chicken is cooked through

  8. Remove foil and broil chicken on high for about 5 minutes, or until chicken is charred

  9. Garnish with red onion, lemons, and cilantro
