This pasta can be served with chicken, shrimp, salmon, or all three. It's THAT good
Once you try this pasta, you'll never want to stop eating it.
Cajun shrimp and chicken pasta
Ingredients:
1 lb penne pasta
4 thinly sliced chicken breasts
1 lb large shrimp
3 tbsp olive oil
2 tsp. paprika
2 tsp. onion powder
3 tsp. garlic salt
2 tsp. Italian seasoning
¼ tsp. cayenne pepper
½ tsp. black pepper
1 c. heavy cream
½ red onion onion
½ red bell pepper
½ green bell pepper
2 garlic cloves
¼ c. parsley
½ c. parmesan cheese
¼ c. mozzarella cheese
Instructions:
Cook pasta to al dente according to box instructions, once pasta is cooked drain from water
In a small bowl, combine paprika, onion powder, garlic salt, Italian seasoning, cayenne pepper, and black pepper
Season chicken and shrimp with 2 tbsp olive oil and of the spice mix
In a large skillet, heat up 1 tbsp olive oil and add chicken and cook until blackened
Once chicken is cooked, remove from heat and cook shrimp (make sure not to overcook shrimp as it can become rubbery)
Remove shrimp from heat once it's cooked, and add onions, red pepper, green pepper, minced garlic, and the remainder of the spice mix to skillet (dice peppers and onions to preferred size)
Once veggies soften a bit, add in your heavy cream
Once it starts to bubble, add in parmesan and mozzarella cheese
Once cheese is melted, add shrimp back to skillet along with cooked penne
Mix all together then add in parsley
Cut chicken into strips and serve on top of pasta
