Mac and Nashville Hot Tenders

Perfect balance of sweet and spicy from the tenders, and the mac is the perfect addition

Mac and Tenders


Tenders Ingredients:

  • 1 lb chicken tenderloins

    Wet mixture:

  • 1 c buttermilk

  • ¼ c hot sauce

  • ¼ c pickle juice

  • 1 egg

  • ½ tsp salt

  • 1 tsp black pepper

  • 2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tbsp paprika

  • 1 tsp chili powder

    Dry mixture:

  • 2 c flour

  • 2 tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • 1 tbsp garlic powder

  • 1 tbsp chili powder

  • 3 tbsp paprika

  • 2 tsp oregano

  • 2 tsp cajun

  • 2 tsp. cayenne pepper

    Coating Sauce:

  • ½ c frying oil

  • 2 tbsp brown sugar

  • 1 tbsp chili powder

  • 1 tbsp cayenne powder

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, combine wet mixture ingredients

  2. In another bowl combine dry mixture ingredients

  3. Coat chicken in dry mixture, wet mixture, then dry mixture again (repeat for each tenderloin)

  4. Let coated chicken rest for 5-10 minutes

  5. Heat oil on pan and fry tenders on each side for about 3 minutes or until chicken is fully cooked through

  6. While chicken is cooking, make coating sauce by combining the frying oil, brown sugar, chili powder, cayenne, paprika, and garlic powder

  7. Once chicken is cooked, coat in sauce and enjoy!

Mac and Cheese Ingredients:

  • 1 lb cavatappi pasta

  • 1 maggi cube

  • 2 c gruyere cheese

  • 2 c colby jack cheese

  • 1 c white cheddar cheese

  • 1 c mozzarella cheese

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ½ tsp pepper

  • 1 stick butter

  • ½ c flour

  • 2 c heavy cream

  • 1 c evaporated milk

Instructions:

  1. Cook pasta to al dente according to box instructions (add maggi cube to water when cooking pasta), once pasta is cooked drain from water

  2. In a saucepan, melt down butter. Whisk in flour once butter is fully melted

  3. Slowly add in heavy cream and evaporated milk while continuing to whisk mixture

  4. In a bowl, combine all the cheeses

  5. Stir in all seasoning and about a quarter of the cheese mixture

  6. Once the cheese has melted, add in another quarter of the cheese mixture and stir until fully melted

  7. Add melted cheese mixture to cooked pasta

  8. Pour half of pasta into baking dish and top with another quarter of the cheese mixture

  9. Add the remaining pasta to the dish and top with the remaining cheese

  10. Cover pasta with aluminum and bake on 400F for 20-25 minutes

  11. Remove aluminum and broil on high for 1-2 minutes or until top is golden brown
